Apple’s iPhone 8 has been hit by huge delays and will not enter mass production until November or December.
That’s according to China’s Economic Daily News, which says that the California company is facing unprecedented challenges in getting its brand new phone ready in time for a September launch.
Apple’s key Chinese partners, Foxconn and Pegatron are said to be well short of mass producing the iPhone 8, with sources saying the device will launch on schedule but will only be available in small quantities.
To compound the issue, Apple’s iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus are also said to be running late, although not to the same extent as the iPhone 8.
Although only a rumour, this latest report tallies with a series of other claims which have suggested Apple is facing tougher than usual conditions in bringing its long awaited tenth anniversary iPhone to market.
Word is that there are also issues with the iPhone 8’s 3D face scanning tech and wireless charging smarts. A launch date is still expected in early September.
