Man found innocent after spending 2 years in jail for rape

Danny Kay, 26, of Derby, who put in over two years in prison for an assault he didn't commit, had his conviction suppressed after a relative revealed a progression of stunner Facebook messages – missed by police – that demonstrated his blamelessness.
In the most recent assault case to feature failings in the criminal equity framework, The Mail on Sunday can uncover that the jury at Danny Kay's 2013 trial was just demonstrated doctored transcripts of urgent Facebook talks between Mr Kay and his informer.

In a select meeting with the MoS, Mr Kay said filed renditions of the first messages – demonstrating he had consensual sex with his informer – were found by his sister-in-law, Sarah Maddison .

When she demonstrated the Facebook trade to the officer accountable for the examination, he stated: 'How could you know how to discover the messages and we didn't?'

The Interest Court heard not long ago that police depended on an 'altered and deluding' record of the Facebook discussion that was given to them by the complainant in the weeks after she guaranteed she was assaulted by Mr Kay.
Mr Kay, 26, said: ‘Even now, with the conviction quashed, I still can’t believe that it took years of pain and stress for this nightmare to end. And the terrifying thought is that if the police and justice system could fail me like this, it could happen to anyone.
