Former Africa Footballer of the year, El Hadji Diouf is drawing inspiration from president-elect of Liberia, George Weah as he set his sight on contesting for the presidential race in Senegal.
The former Liverpool and Leeds United midfielder hung up his boots in 2017. Speaking to Accra based Class FM; Diouf is gearing up to follow in the footsteps of the former Chelsea FC player and former Ballon d’Or winner.
“I am looking after myself and my family. For many years I use to think about football but I have a new career and it is a political career. I have taken the decision to do politics because I have people waiting for me to change things in my country and I am ready to do that because I want to be the solider of the youngsters,” he added
