Former Argentine Footballer, Lucas Viatri Severely Wounded After A Firework Exploded In His Face (Photo)

popular Argentine striker, Lucas Viatri is right now not fit as a fiddle, after a firecracker "incidentally" detonated in his face amid Christmas festivities back home in Argentina.

The 30-year-old can be seen in images posted on social media with his face looking swollen, his eyebrows burnt and serious injuries to his right cheekbone.

An announcement from his Uruguayan club read:

'Lucas Viatri endured a mischance with fireworks that influenced the two eyes.
'He is in Buenos Aires, where he is resting and examinations are being done to set up the pertinent treatment.'
They were not able affirm to what extent it would take for him to recoup however.

Viatri has spent for all intents and purposes the greater part of his profession playing in South America with spells at both Boca Juniors and Estudiantes.
