Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, said on Tuesday that 50 people were killed and numerous others harmed after Fulani herders assaulted a Tiv people group in the state.
Ortom, who tended to columnists at the Government House in Makurdi, rebuked the Federal Government for not ensuring the general population.
"The blood of those individuals murdered by the Fulani herders are on the hands of the central government and if nothing is done they will cry unto God," the representative said.
He said the central government was cautioned on the risk of the herders who had promised to oppose the counter touching bill sanctioned by the state government.
The senator said nine domesticated animals protects were executed and their Hilux watch van demolished in the assault.
Amid Tuesday's assault, many individuals were butchered, kids killed, and a few had their hands hacked off.
A 30-year - old woman, Dooshima Anande, disclosed to The Nation that her sibling who completed his childhood benefit few days prior was killed in the assault.
