'I didn't mean to': Sobbing girl, age 12, claims she shot two classmates by accident.—international

A 12-year-old girl arrested for shooting two classmates in school has told police it was an accident.
The incident happened just as classes were about to start at Salvador Castro Middle School on Thursday morning.
An 11-year-old boy was shot in the head but, miraculously, is expected to make a recovery.
A 12-year-old girl was shot in the wrist and is in a stable condition.
A 30-year-old woman also suffered minor injuries during the shooting.
Police raced to the scene shortly after 8:55 am and news choppers captured the girl being led away in handcuffs to a waiting patrol car.
A police officer was holding what appeared to be her schoolbag.

The young lady had long, dull hair and was wearing a jumper and pants.
Vice president Robert Arcos at first said it was too soon to theorize on a thought process in the assault.
He said officers were meeting with kids and staff to decided whether it was deliberate or a "ghastly mischance," he said.

A colleague who saw the occurrence later told nearby media he saw the young lady in the quick repercussions and she was wailing: "I didn't intend to".

The young lady's dad revealed to Fox11 News his family don't possess a firearm and he has no clue where she got it from.
Police affirmed they are regarding the occurrence as inadvertent and the young lady will confront charges of "careless release of a gun".
On edge guardians swarmed outside of the school after news of the shooting broke.

Police are investigating if the shooting was intentional or "terrible accident"
The boy is expected to make a recovery despite being shot in the head

Rosario Hernandez, 41, was among them waiting for her 14-year-d son Johnny.
She told the LA Times he had texted her to to say a girl had "shot a bot and a boy".
When she asked why he replied: "I don't know. Mom go home, I will tell you when we are not in lockdown."
LA's District Attorney Mike Feuer said it was a reminder for gun owners about "the safe storage of weapons".
"Every responsible gun owner needs to take heed," he added.
