The man from Duabi claimed he needs the money to compensate him for the time he misses out on seeing his friends - even though his wife is the sole breadwinner in the house.

A woman has filed for divorce after her husband demanded she pay him almost £100 every time he gave her a lift anywhere.

The unidentified woman is the sole breadwinner in the house and pays the bills - because her husband reportedly cannot hold down a job.


But when she asked him to give her lift because she doesn't have her own vehicle yet he told her she had to pay him 500 diram (£98).

He claimed that he needs the money to compensate him for the time he misses out on seeing his friends.

Local reports in Dubai claim the man already often goes out at night with his friends and leaves her at home with their children.

Yet despite this she agreed to pay the first 500 diram to him - thinking it would be a one off.

But when he again asked for the same amount next time she asked for a lift she decided that was enough and filed for divorce just over a month ago.
