Blac Chyna’s assistant has died after being removed from life support after falling ill in January.

Lorena “Patty” Herandez was pronounced dead at the age of 34 on Wednesday after machines keeping her alive were switched off.

Lorena was a long-time assistant to 30-year-old Blac, worked as her house manager and featured in episodes of Rob & Chyna (Blac’s reality show with former finance, Rob Kardashian).

Lorena had suffered a severe brain hemorrhage in December last year, and then fell into a coma by January 11 following a third brain bleed incident.

Blac Chyna could now face legal action following her assistant's death

The assistant’s family updated followers on a GoFundMe page which had been raising money to help pay for medical bills that they planned to switch off Lorena’s life support.

“It is with a heavy heart that I would like to share that this morning, May 14, Patty was pronounced Brain Dead after a 3rd bleed and will have to be disconnected,” the family wrote on Monday.

"We ask you keep our family in prayer during this difficult time,” they added.

TMZ reported on Thursday that Lorena (who was being cared for at the Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles) had died.

Her family are planning to donate her organs “so that she can give the gift of life to other families,” according to a source speaking to PageSix.

Lorena had suffered a stroke in 2017, but had continued to work with Blac Chyna to support her clothing line and day-to-day chores.

She suffered a seizure at Blac’s Los Angeles salon, Lashed, causing bleeding on the brain and she fell into her coma soon after.

It has been reported that Lorena’s family are planning to sue Blac with accusations she failed to provide her with worker’s compensation.

Blacks former lovers, reality star Rob Kardashian and rapper Tyga, both donated a combined amount of $15,000 (over £11,000) to Lorena’s GoFundMe cause.

Blac had claimed she was offering support to Lorena’s children and family - however this has been contested by a source close to the bereaved family.

“[Blac] was only there the first day when they found her at Lashed, but the only reason she came to the hospital was to tell the doctors and everyone not to give out any information to anybody,” the source claimed to PageSix.

A spokesperson for Blac Chyna was not immediately available for comment.
