Nigerian Mother pours kerosene on son and sets him on fire for stealingmp3

An Abia State based mother of three, identified as Chinyere Odum has been apprehended by the police for allegedly pouring kerosene on her son and setting him on fire




The accused mother was said to have tied up her son, Prince Odum who is 14-year-old,after she found out that he stole an mp3 player from a neighbour


According to neighbours, the family is dysfunctional and Chinyere has been known to flog Prince, who is her only son, with fire wood.

As a result of the horrible burns he suffered all over his body, he has since been rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, FMC, Umuahia however the hospital is ill equipped to handle his injuries so plans are being made to have him transferred to UNTH in Enugu state.

In spite of his injuries and predicament he is currently faced with, eye witnesses say that when Prince saw his mother being questioned by the police, he broke down in tears and took the blame.


He told officers it was his fault and pleaded with them to release his mother. He also promised his mother that he would never do wrong again.
