Donald Trump's Walk of Fame star has been a lightning rod for violence, but it's going to weather the storm and stay put because cops and the group that manages the Walk of Fame don't want it 86'd. Law authorization sources tell TMZ ... the LAPD has met with the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, and both organizations acknowledge they're in a sticky situation. They know by keeping Trump's star up front on the well known Blvd., it will be at the focal point of what has turned into a common war between seething Trump and against Trump groups.
Here's the issue ... the Chamber and LAPD both concur it would be surprisingly more terrible to evacuate the star since that would encourage individuals to mutilate the stars of celebs they disdain. For instance, if Trump's star is evacuated, Trump supporters may follow Jane Fonda's star. Furthermore, if her star is evacuated, others may strike back by following Clint Eastwood's star.
Thus, the choice has been made to keep Trump's star in its place, knowing it will most likely be devastated once more, and conceivably again ... furthermore, again ... what's more, once more. Far more terrible, the Chamber and LAPD are acutely mindful the warring groups will utilize the star as a battleground.
As we reported, violence erupted Thursday night where protesters punched, kicked and otherwise abused their opponents.
And, the star has been destroyed twice ... most recently this week when a Trump foe went at it with a pickax
