Hollywood actor Idris Elba, who fans are seeking to be the next James Bond, has gotten the job to host Fifa Best Football Awards, barely a year after he successfully hosted the event in London.
The Golden Globe and SAG-winning actor is to be assisted by co-host Anne-Laure Bonnet at the star-studded event, which will again be staged in the United Kingdom’s capital on Monday 24 September.
While the men’s award contenders are: Juventus‘ Cristiano Ronaldo, Liverpool‘s Mohamed Salah and Real Madrid‘s Luka Modric, the women contenders are the Lyon pair Ada Hegerberg and Dzsenifer Marozsan and Brazilian legend Marta.
Idris, who is fame for his roles in high-profile films such as The Mountain Between Us, Beasts of No Nation, Thor and Avengers: Infinity War, and the critically acclaimed television series Luther, is also a lifelong devotee of the beautiful game – and passionate supporter of London giants Arsenal.
“I’m a massive football fan, so I am delighted to return again this year to present The Best FIFA Football Awards 2018,” he said. “It’s not just an honour but a huge thrill and a pleasure to be sharing a stage with the greatest footballers in the world.”Meanwhile, Bonnet, is an experienced and multilingual broadcast journalist, who currently works for beINSPORTS in her native France. One of her country’s leading sports presenters, she also speaks fluent English, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish, along with some German and Russian.
