Desiinger is reportedly engaged to his longtime girlfriend,
Lana Ray, and will hopefully walk down the aisle soon with her.
The ‘Panda’ rapper who has been with Lana Ray even before fame, popped the question over Thanksgiving. His
girlfriend,
music executive Lana Ray immediately said “Yes.” According to MTO, Lana
who has been managing Desiigner’s career ever since he first popped, is
a college educated executive.
Desiigner’s
real name is Sidney Royel Selby III the 21 year old rapper was born on
May 3, 1997, in Brooklyn, New York. He is of Afro-Barbadian and African
American descent, and is the grandson of blues musician Sidney “Guitar
Crusher” Selby. He grew up in the Louis Armstrong housing projects in
the Bedford–Stuyvesant neighborhood. He began practicing vocals at
school choir and church. At the age of 14, after being shot, he embarked
on his music career.
Desiigner
rose to fame when he released his debut single, “Panda” a few days
before Christmas 2015, the song racked up more than 100 million views on
YouTube and six weeks later, Desiigner was signed to Kanye West’s GOOD Music record label.
Desiigner
is the first New York rapper since Jay Z to reach number one in the
Billboard Charts. Hov previously had the accolade with 2009’s ‘Empire
State Of Mind’ featuring Alicia Keys.
