Multi –award-wining Nigerian singer, Ayo ‘Wizkid’ Balogun has broken the silence that he begged Duncan Mighty to collaborate with him on ‘Fake Love’.
Starboy made this known on Sunday night after he showed up with the Port Harcourt’s first son on stage during his Made in Lagos concert which held at Eko Atlantic city.
He told the over 20,000 concert lovers who turned up that he begged Duncan Mighty for collabo on Fake Love, a song, released in May, which was the first-ever collaboration between the pair.
The song made it to the top of online, radio and television charts, enjoying both commercial and critical acclaim.
Following the release and success of the song, scores of music lovers were of the opinion that Duncan Mighty’s career benefitted hugely from the collaboration, adding that Wizkid ‘resurrected’ the veteran singer’s career.
However, the “Fever” crooner cleared the air while appreciating the Port Harcourt first son.
“Dem no know say na me come beg you for that song”, he revealed while celebrating Duncan Mighty in Pidgin English. “…Today, I just want to thank you for blessing me with that song, ya’ll make some noise for this legend”, he continued.Meanwhile, it was learnt that Wizkid still made it to Olamide’s concert, OLIC5, after shutting down his Made In Lagos concert.
A Twitter user @chydee wrote;
Wizkid left his #MadeInLagos show to perform with Olamide at #OLIC5. I don’t ever want to hear anybody say they’re too busy to be there for people they claim they care about. I don’t want to hear it.
#MadeInLagos popped heavy. #OLIC5 popped heavy. I had doubts, but now I can authoritatively confirm that the sky is big enough for everyone to flourish, on the same day.
