Fake Social Media Pictures: Man Arresetd and Arraigned for Wrongfully Uploading Pictures of Girl that Ran Mad

A 28-year old man, Abdul-Salam Wasiu, on Wednesday showed up in a Badagry Chief Magistrates' Court, Lagos State, for purportedly posting a phony image of a crazy young lady inside a canal on Facebook.

The police charged Wasiu, whose address was not given with two counts of disturbing peace and belonging to a cult group.

The Prosecutor, ASP Akpam Ikem, told the court that the respondent carried out the offense on April 15 at 2.54 p.m., at No. 130, Aka Road, by Church Bus Stop, in Ajangbadi zone of Lagos.

Ikem said the respondent acted in a way liable to cause rupture of harmony by posting a slanderous articulation via web-based networking media.

He said that the respondent sent a video of a young lady in a drain on Facebook, against New Planet Hotel, situated on Aka Road, Ajangbadi.

Ikem said the video the blamed sent was with the caption:'This young lady just ran mad at Aka Road; the young lady simply turned out from the hotel yelling planet yahoo boys have used the young lady', the story known to be false.
