Ondo State government-possessed Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA) have by the authorities been closed down following persistent protest by students over the choice of the school's management to enforce "no tuition cost, no test and no examination policy".
NNU discovered that the progression by the administration of the school to test the enforcement on Tuesday as 100level and 200level students began their test, was opposed by the students who staged a peaceful protest around the university campus.
In a memo circulated by the University's management, in March 2019, students who are yet to pay their recently increased tuition fee will pay extra #10,000 for late registration, without which they would not be permitted to write the first semester 2018/2019 tests and examination, as scheduled.
A press release signed by the school's Registrar, Dr. Sunday Ayeerun shows that "all students of the school are, accordingly, encouraged to go on a Mid-Semester break with prompt effect".
The announcement says the students are to resume to campus on Monday, May 20, 2019.
