Zinedine Zidane Wants To Sign His Compatriot Paul Pogba Despite His Wage Demands

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane remains determined to sign Paul Pogba this summer, despite the midfielder's 'unacceptable' wage demands.
The Manchester United star is keen to push through a move to the Bernabeu after another indifferent season at Old Trafford, which finished with him arguing with fans following a final day home defeat by relegated Cardiff.
French newspaper L 'Equipe claim that Pogba is still a 'priority' signing for Zidane, who spent £62million to sign striker Luka Jovic from Frankfurt on Tuesday.
A deal for Pogba, however, appears to be the most difficult to do, with club officials deeming the former Juventus star's current demands 'unacceptable'.
The World Cup winner, who on Tuesday was awarded the Officer of the Legion of Honor medal by French president Emmanuel Macron, currently earns around £280,000 a week at United.
Pogba would expect a significant increase on his wages if he makes the move to Spain, while the Red Devils want more than the £89million fee they paid to sign him back in 2016.
L'Equipe claim that Pogba may be forced to drop his salary demands if he is serious about sealing a move to the Bernabeu.
