Police Officers Commits Suicide On Duty

A The deceased was found seated in a plastic chair with severe wounds to the head and bloodstains on his body while 3 empty gun shells were also found beside him on the floor.Ghanaian policeman Lance Corporal Alhassan Asare has reportedly taken his own life while on duty with his won weapon.

According to GhanaWeb, Asare who was stationed at Akim Swedru in the Birim South District of the Eastern Region committed suicide with his weapon while on duty at about 5:45 pm.

“The duty man Number. 46688 L/Cpl. Alhassan Asare was sitting in a plastic chair on the story building dead with his rifle in between his thighs. The District Commander DSP/Mr. Sebastian Maya was d uly informed and a follow-up visit was made to the scene”, the report revealed.
