ANSU : VICE CHANCELLOR ADDRESS THE PUBLIC ON THE FALSE PUBLICATION ALLEGING COOU HAD INCREASE THE SCHOOL FEES

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT.

Attention of the management of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University has been drawn to a false and malicious on-line publication alleging that the university had increased the School fees.

The University authority hereby debunks the allegation.

The university's school fees is not increased in any form or shape and nobody is thinking of doing so now.

Again, the students went on long vacation in July. The SUG had served its tenure and the University management has constituted a committee to take care of their election on resumption in October, 2019. There is no disbandment as being falsely circulated.

Furthermore, the university has three campuses with Acting Medical Director and two other doctors living in Uli campus. Presently, there are two other doctors there who are on Youth Service.

At Igbariam campus, there are two medical centres; one at the old site and the other at the new. In a case of any critical situation, the person is referred to COOU Teaching Hospital, Amaku, Awka.

Also, the alleged payment of hostel fees even by those who are not living inside the campus is false and unfounded. No right thinking person can ask any student not living in the school hostel to pay rent where he or she doesn't reside.

Moreover, no student is chased out of campus for any reason. Whenever there is a vacation, students go home to come back on resumption.

Odumegwu Ojukwu University is for ever focused and this is why our law students make First Class in law school. Our Engineering students do well, even beyond the shores of Nigeria.

Above all, the Visitor of the university, His Excellency, Chief Willie Obiano, is an education and youth friendly governor, who would not want to inflict such pain on the students.
