Suspended Osun PDP chairman asks members to remain calm

Suspended chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Osun State, Soji Adagunodo, on Friday appealed to members of the party in the state to remain calm.
He, however, described his suspension as an act of injustice.
A letter signed by the party’s National Secretary, Umaru Tsauri, and dated April 30, 2020, had directed Adagunodo to step aside, having been indicted for anti-party activities.
He was directed to hand over the party’s affairs to his deputy.
But Adagunod said he was aware of the displeasure that the decision of the party’s National Working Committee had caused within the party.
“I use this opportunity to request that all our members across the state should remain law-abiding as the leaders of our party are looking into the matter. Therefore, I appeal for calm and restraint in the face of this injustice,” he said.
Meanwhile, the party’s acting chairman, Sunday Atidade, has called on members of the party to be ready to make decisions that would ensure victory for the party.
In a statement posted on his Facebook wall, Atidade assured members that the State Working Committee of the party would work and make the party victorious in the state.
