Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola, has reacted to his side’s Premier League 2-0 defeat against Manchester United on Sunday.
Guardiola insisted that Man City were not “clinical” enough in attacking areas against Man United, adding that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side was so fast on the counter attack.
Man United defeated Man City at Etihad, thanks to two goals from Bruno Fernandes and Luke Shaw.
Despite the defeat, City are still on top of the Premier League table with 11 points ahead of second place, Man United, after 28 games.
“It was a fantastic game. United make incredibly high pressing, and they are so fast on the counter. We played well. Unfortunately, we couldn’t be clinical upfront, so we congratulate United, ” Guardiola told Sky Sports.
“We will be the news because we lost. But the news is 21 victories in a row. There are still 30 points to play, and we have to start to win again.
“That’s football. Sometimes it happens. We played much better than the game against West Ham which we won.
“It’s always the same. We win a game and then move onto the next one. It’s the same here. We lose this, so we go to the next one. It’s a lesson. Even at 0-2, we played really well.”
Man City’s next match is against Southampton on Wednesday
