Vigilante group, Ijaw youths clash in Delta over alleged machete injury on kinsman

 

A vigilante group in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State on Monday clashed with Ijaw youths over an alleged attack on one of its kinsmen, Ebite Wisdom.

It was learnt that Ebite Wisdom was allegedly attacked, macheted and injured by the Vigilante group on Sunday night of August 22 when he was returning home.

Another person was also injured alongside the victim, Wisdom who was attacked at about 9:30pm.

The victim was said to have had an argument with the Vigilante group and in the ensuing encounter, one of his hands was almost chopped off but he managed to escape from the scene until he was able to reach out to his kinsmen who rushed him to the hospital.

However, the Ijaw youths who had earlier vowed to avenge the attacks on their kinsman clashed with the Vigilante group at Peabody hotel in Ovwian Community.

During the melee, several persons sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the hospital.
