New KFC is turned into a NIGHTCLUB with blacked out windows and top DJ playing behind the counter
The new fast food joint in Mornington Crescent, London, treated customers to tunes in their makeshift hip hop club at their grand opening
KFC transformed its latest London restaurant into a nightclub for its grand opening this weekend.
The brand new Mornington Crescent KFC launched with blacked-out windows and high-tech lighting as it became a hip hop club for the night.
Top DJ Bradley Johnson and BURST spent the evening spinning tunes behind the counter for lucky customers.
The event was organised by the restaurant's franchisee Khawar Hussain with help from local hip hop night BURST, who host emerging live acts and DJs at nearby Camden club KOKO every Friday.
The aim was to celebrate North London - an area rich in musical heritage and with world class nightlife.
Hussain said: “We knew it was only right to officially launch our new KFC in Mornington Crescent in true North London style - with beats to accompany our buckets.
''We wanted to give local customers a real night to remember - the chance to enjoy their favourite fried chicken in a totally unique environment.
Clubber Jack Dalziel, 27, from Peckham. He said:"Food was great. Crowd was amazing. Music was banging."
Tom Henderson from BURST said: “Who wouldn’t want to throw a party in a KFC? We’ve finally made it!
"The KFC party on Friday clucked things off perfectly before we headed to KOKO for yet another Friday night to remember.”
Earlier in the day customers were given free t-shirts and food.
KFC Mornington Crescent will create 20 jobs in North London. In the coming weeks, delivery will be available at the restaurant and it will also be involved in KFC’s charity initiatives including the Food Donation Scheme, which sees unsold chicken frozen and donated to a local charity partner.
