The Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) have received a clapback from the Independent National Electoral Commission, after the party accused the electoral umpire of making covert plans to replace the INEC servers in the headquarters and offices across all states of the federation.
In a statement by the party's publicity secretary, Kunle Ologbondiyan, the replacement of the servers was for the body to wipe out evidences of its presidential candidate's landslide victory at the February election.
Press secretary to INEC Chairman, Rotimi Oyekanmi, in a statement yesterday described the accusation as
“ baseless and uncalled for. The [commission] has maintained that it will not join issues with the PDP in the media on a petition that the party had already filed in court, in respect of the 2019 presidential election.
“Rather than issuing press statements and addressing press conferences on the same petition on a daily basis, the PDP should allow the legal process to run its full course.”
