More parade advice for fans

The parade is expected to attract hundreds of thousands of people, so the city council and Merseytravel are issuing key advice for fans....
  • Use the full length of the route. The open top bus won’t be stopping so take advantage of the full length of the route from Queens Drive all the way to The Strand.
  • Decide which part of the route you want to wait at and arrive in plenty of time.
  • Be patient – it is impossible to predict how long it will take the team bus to travel along the route.
  • Due to the number of people coming into and out of the city, there will be significant demands on public transport, with queuing likely.

Bit of parade advice from the police...

Don’t try and get to the airport if you want to enjoy the parade.

What Mohamed Salah did before Champions League Final to spark Liverpool win

It is a memory most would banish from their minds forever, one that still chills the blood of everyone connected to Liverpool .
Mo Salah broken and in tears, helped from the pitch in Kiev, when his Champions League dream was destroyed by the cynicism of Sergio Ramos and a shoulder joint jarred from its socket.
Yet as he approached the opportunity for redemption, a miraculous return to the final and a chance to put that agonising flashback behind him forever Salah refused to hide from his darkest hour.
In fact, on the afternoon of the game against Spurs, he called up an image of him shattered and inconsolable, barely registering the concern of Cristiano Ronaldo and the Liverpool medical staff. He did it, to remind himself.
“Last year was one of the worst moments of my life yeah, and yes I think this is one of the best,” he explained.
“I looked at a picture before the game of me in that final last year (in tears) it was like, so awful. We were so upset and disappointed after the final, and now here we are back and winning the trophy.
“I was so very disappointed I had that injury you know, I went out after just 30 minutes. We lost the game. So I looked at the picture to motivate me, it was something to motivate me to win the game this time.
“I thought I needed to remind myself to motivate me. Honestly I don’t look at the picture and stare at it for a long time! But it was just something I could use to motivate me and I looked at it one time and say. ok, let’s not have that again, let’s go on and win it.”

Liverpool fans party into the night

Liverpool fans took to the streets of Madrid to celebrate the club’s Champions League win over Tottenham on Saturday night.
The Reds beat English rivals Spurs 2-0 at the Wanda Metropolitano to win the competition for the sixth time.
The celebrations started as soon as referee Damir Skomina blew the final whistle to bring the match to a close, while similar scenes were seen across the UK.
Just 16,000 tickets were made available to both Tottenham and Liverpool fans for the 68,000-seat venue, but many thousands more travelled to the Spanish capital ahead of the showpiece and filled the streets to soak up the atmosphere.
